MiniAngus and Dirty DC at The Waterfront, Norwich, 17/04/2005

Hello DirtyDC.

I'm MiniAngus and I'm 7.  I went to your gig as part of my birthday present.  It was funny when I went up to the front, I really liked it.  It was fun.  I enjoyed meeting you and it was funny when Mummy took a picture with us and with me holding the guitar.  Simon was really good.  Thank you for my pics.  The music was really good.

MiniAngus

========================

Guys, thanks for the great gig as ALWAYS, and thank you for everything you did to make MiniAngus's first rock gig a night to remember.  He hasn't stopped talking about it yet and he's been singing all day, including Jailbreak which I haven't heard him sing before.  Obviously being right at the front for that one helped!

To say he enjoyed the music before hand is one thing, but now that he has experienced the live effect he might never be the same again  :-)   Bring it on  \m/  Thanks also to everyone for being cool around the little man, I think he felt like a wee star when he got some claps for air guitar on my shoulders.  A few people took pictures and video of him, if you read this could you contact me at the
www.acdcconvention.co.uk forum so I can get copies?

Again, many thanks.

Smiler

Hey, I wonder if we`ve "set the standard" for MiniAngus,

Glad you guys enjoyed it, we did!

Pangaea caught Dirty DC at The Limelight in Crewe on the 11/03/2005

I could do a travel story thing, but not now. Let's just say I missed my plane for England, had to fork out and extra 100 pounds for a new ticket. Then when I was travelling for York to Crewe by train, I f***ed up in Manchester, and took a local train. Took me two hours just to get back to Manchester from the world metropole of... Stalybridge.

Was afraid I was gonna miss the start of the gig, but it all got sorted out. Checked in to the hotel, and left again within 10 minutes.

Positioned myself in front of the stage 40 minutes before they started as people were pouring in, and stood there for the gig. Just had to have front-rows at this one!

A bit foggy now as it's almost a month ago, but holy hell it was good!!!!

Played at least one from Flick, think it was Guns For Hire. Whichever it was, it was fucking great! Played TNT and Riff Raff as 2nd encore as the crowd was going nuts!
They tore into Overdose during the gig. Absolutely ace!
To be honest I remember little about the tracklist apart from the usual songs, and a fair number of Brian-era. Walk All Over You for instance.

It was a great wet night. Drank a lot of beer, and sweat was dripping, or flying off as the body was being controlled by the music.

In short, if you have a chance to watch this band... for the love of Bon DO IT!!!
It's simply the best cover-band around. 'Ang' looks so much like Angus himself, it's fucking scary. 'Brian' fooling around on stage, doing the "Brian-dance" and stuff. Funny as hell! Stic is keeping it tight at the back. There's only one band in the world that can outplay these lads, and it's the mighty AC/DC. At times you can almost wonder..

It must have been quite like this back in the days when DC played the bar-scene. Small, sweaty stage, the place filled with people to the ceiling. Band on fire. Angus running about, Bon flirting with the crowd.

Hope I can come over again for the Big Ball. Would love to see this band again!!

Pangaea

Mate, What a write up!

Thanks mate

Got an e-mail from Dave who caught Dirty DC at The Brook, 19/05/2005

We caught you at the Brook last night after missing tickets at Mr Kyps when your last show sold out.  I have never seen ACDC live so I was very pleased to see the lads who are known to be the best tribute and you didnt dissapoint that's for sure.  Excellent sound (and for the Brook that it to be commended cos the PA is shite in there) great songs and performance, as 'tight as a duck's rear end'!! We would have liked to have seen some form of light show.. of any kind?  any possibility of that in the future?  Come back soon boys, I'm sure next time the Brook will be heaving I'm sure. Did your drummer play for Jadis many moons ago? Cheers Dave M.

Thanks Dave also thanks to Bryn & Co a

Thanks again for a great night and am glad i brought it to your attention about the dates of the crewe gig. Babs

I was at the Empire in Belfast last night for you guys show. You f**king rock! When you came out on (the small) stage I remarked to the girlfriend: “F**king Hell! They’re just like them!” Great show. I’m sat here now listening to the live album, and its like your gig continuing! Well, that’s apart from my left eardrum being f**ked! Only Lemmy can blow the both of them, so much respect lads!

Come back to Belfast soon!

Thanks Carl

From Gazza,

Saw you guys at the Limelight Club on Saturday 12th November.  Fourth time now at the venue.  Absolutely brilliant every time !!!  I've seen the real band seven times and you are definately the next best thing, the whole experience is mind-blowing and couldnt be any closer to the real thing ! Keep rockin and keep the mid-November gigs at the Limelight going.  Its become my traditional birthday minibus trip filled with AC/DC/Dirty DC fans from Warrington. PS thanks to 'Malcolm' for showing me the chords on Touch Too Much !! Gazza.

And from Den

hi , yet another cracking gig in Crewe, seen u there 4 times now with Blaze and Sarah. took the wife 4 the 1st time last night and she really enjoyed herself and like me has been a big DC fan all her life. we were down the front, i was wearing the Rose Tattoo t-shirt u spotted, r u a fan 2? i saw them supporting Rainbow at Bingley hall in ' 81 and they gave them a run 4 their money. i got the shirt when they toured here 4 yrs ago and saw them at J.B'S in Dudley, 2hr show,u name it they played it! managed 2 get my Rainbow 81 ticket autographed and a set-list from J.B'S,he signed it " to Den, stay young, grow strong", we had a good laugh when i said i was 38 and complimented my tattoos and 4 staying a fan 4 so long. i texted Blaze 2day and we both agreed that unlike most bands u lot seem 2 get better and better! i've seen quite a few DC tribute bands but, and no disrespect 2 u, Sav or drummer have nvr seen anybody work has hard as Simon and Grant. i really can't see any difference between Simon and Angus when i 1st saw em at Donington ' 81 and i am a bit of an anorak with trib bands. went 2 see Rainbow Rising in Crewe last week and they r fuckin awesome, they also had Graham Bonnet on the same week and at 57 has still got a cracking voice, he made it look too easy! hurry back 2 Crewe soon as we fuckin love the band. cos  i was sober last night i was just watching and shouting along but when u did "have a drink on me" there was no hope and from there on explains why the old neck is still sore.

Thanks to all

Downsize

Hello, I've been an AC/DC fan for a good few years now, still haven't seen the real thing live yet though! I go to gigs regularly at the Brook in Southampton, and I saw that an AC/DC tribute band was on down there so I went along with my Dad and my drummer. We were completely blown away by you!   I believe you opened with Riff Raff if my memory serves me right and from then on it was classic after classic. When we heard you were back on down there, we all went again and brought my vocalist! Once again, a cracking show [I believe it was in November?]

I came to see DirtyDC last night and were really impressed with the support band "Hoffman Sloth". PLayed some good tunes, very upbeat. The DC lads were on top form again once again. Even liked the their version of "Silent Night "at the end in true ACDC style - a christmas gift to us all...... arhhhh.

Plus no-one could moan about talking!

My special handshake goes to Paul Alwin who after his illness came back with a vengance and showed the dedication he has for his music and the band, total respect to that man at the back. Hello chaps, thank you for another blinder in St Albans last weekend - our ears just about stopped ringing now!  I just finished reading Paul Stennings - AC/DC - Two Sides to Every Glory (and an excellent book it is too - everything you could possibly wish to know about the band) - there's a load of weblinks in the back and I'm steadily going through them and adding you to the Tribute Bands sections - am sure you won't mind.  Top of the list (and one the band at least used to actually check) is www.ac-dc.cc so I've added you there already.  Spread the word is what I say!   Cheers   Carolyn & Tall Paul

Looking forward to seeing you guys in Belfast again at the Empire on the 28th. Your last visit was an unforgetable night and you certainly were very appreciated by the many old DC fans in Belfast. I have been getting my kids into ACDC through the Family Jewels dvd which Its a long way to the top is there favourite. Will you guys be doing any sound checks at the Empire that day that I could bring the kids down to.I hire pianos to the venue and the manager woudn't mind us turning up if you guys tune up before the the gig. If not I'll be cheering you with a few lads that missed you last time. Enjoy the night and be very grateful if you play Touch too Much!

Lee e-mailed Dirty DC about The Horn gig

Dc got down and dirty at the horn in st albans. Once again they ripped the roof right of with a first class performance of how rock music should be delivered. The only downside was a few pricks nr the front decided to jump over everyone around them and tried to spoil the night, but what do you expect from childeren who have just escaped from their playpen. Enough said about the kids. great night and liked the new singer (Chris Hill) not over the top with a geordie accent, just said what he had to and then got on with it.  Nice one guys see you at the corn exchange.

Friday the 3rd at Cambridge Corn Exchange gave us a great night of rock n roll. The Saffs I understand are a local band but cant comment on as I arrived after their set. Slip of the tongue, a whitesnake tribute band gave a good performance and sounded great. What I will say is when I clapped eyes on them for the first time I thought they looked a bit like Thunder, but the night really belonged to Dirtydc. As soon as the thunder roared and Simon ripped into thunderstruck people at the front started jumping and the rest were nodding their heads tapping their feet or generally jigging to the rhythm. There were a few glitches along the way but that's ok, ACDC f*** up from time to time so dirtydc have the it all, the look, the sound and the oops what the f*** happened there. To the fella who threw the bottle onto the stage, Paul was quite happy to give it back to you (up your arse sideways). It was a bit strange not to hear let there be rock and for those about to rock but I can only assume it was due to a time factor. All in all a good night of rock n roll and  will always give you your monies worth and a bit more.

Untill the 3rd of november my firend hated AC/DC, but somehow i managed to convince him to come to the gig at the corn exchange in cambridge, after which he had to eat his words! he has now borrowed all of my AC/DC cds, and there is no sign of me getting them back! before the gig i was a little worried that you wouldnt live up to my expectations, but you did that and more! for many years i wished i had been able to see AC/DC and thought i was doomed to never see a good live AC/DC show, but you guys came so close the mark the performane was uncanny. Thanks very much for a brilliant show, next time youre playing anywhere near me ill be sure to be there. I could have listened to you play all night, and wish you had!!   paul.

Hi there,

I was at Friday's gig at The Brook in Southampton, just wanted to say that it was fu$%ing awesome(If you'll excuse my English!) like many others I'm sure I have kind of resigned myself to the fact I'll probably never get to see the mighty AC/DC live on stage and if miracles 'appen and I do it'll be standing several miles away from the stage in a sea of fellow nutters, well if I don't get to see'em I won't be so distraught now, thank you so much for the show and thank you for putting in the effort you guys have obviously gone to, to make it worthy of the real thing!!!
I will be seeing you again hopefully in Poole on the 29th Dec, I am drumming up some more friends to come along too.

Attached is a picture of me with my mates at the gig, they're a bit blurred but atleast the ugly one me was in focus.

Fu$%ing amazing!!!!!!!!!
